Elon Musk, during Tesla's shareholder meeting, disclosed his growing alliance with Donald Trump, emphasizing Trump's admiration for the Cybertruck.
CEO Elon Musk spoke about his relationship with former President Trump during Thursday's shareholder meeting of the electric vehicle giant Tesla. Musk said that, while he would not be joining a possible second Trump administration, he confirmed that the two have had conversations and revealed some of the topics they have discussed.
Trump and Musk Discuss EVs and Space Force
During Thursday's annual meeting of shareholders, Musk made a statement about Elon Musk's behavior, saying, "I have had some conversations with him and he does call me out of the blue — for no reason." This came as investors approved Musk's $56 billion pay package. "I don't know why," Musk said, but "he does."
Reportedly speaking with the former president "several times a month" about issues such as immigration and the U.S. Space Force, which Trump established, Musk has allegedly developed a tighter friendship with Trump in recent weeks.
According to Bloomberg News, Musk has also given Trump advice on electric vehicles, cryptocurrency regulation, and the possibility of an advising role should Trump win reelection in November. The SpaceX and Tesla CEO has dismissed the rumor, per Quartz.
In his conversation with Trump, Musk reminisced about how he had told the former president that electric vehicles are "pretty good for the future" and that "America's the leader in electric cars."
Elon Musk's Remarks on Trump's Cybertruck Admiration
More than that, Musk continued by saying that many of Trump's acquaintances are now proud Tesla owners. Per the New York Post, he also mentioned that Trump is "a huge fan of the Cybertruck."
The Cybertrucks, an electronic pickup, has become a status symbol for tech entrepreneurs and the well-to-do in general. Less than 4,000 have been sold so far in April, despite Musk announcing on Thursday that Tesla had achieved a weekly manufacturing record of 1,300.
Cybertruck's Role in Law Enforcement
On a separate note, Unplugged Performance formally introduced the Cybertruck police cruiser last week. The vehicle, which will be deployed this year, showcases modern technology and includes specific features designed for law enforcement.
Police lights encircle the vehicle's bumpers, and sides are mounted on top. Unplugged Performance has upgraded the radio and computer systems with specialized wiring and other proprietary integrations. It has also included the anticipated sirens and a public address loudspeaker system.
Cybertruck improvements can be tailored to meet the specific requirements of tactical, military, or search and rescue missions, according to the company.
Besides that, the design is adaptable to accommodate captives, weapon or specialty tool storage, K9 units, or other upgraded vehicle options, including wheel and tire packages, braking, extreme off-road, and Starlink use.
