Coinbase and Webull Expand Partnership to Canada for Seamless Crypto Trading

Webull has grown its crypto-infrastructure relationship with Coinbase into Canada, enabling its Canadian customers to trade and hold digital assets right inside the app. Under the deal, Webull Canada Crypto Limited, an order-execution-only firm governed by the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO), will use Coinbase's Crypto-as-a-Service (CaaS) platform for institutional-grade custody, trading, and back-end liquidity. Though Webull Canada belongs to the Canadian Investor Protection Fund (CIPF), customers should understand that CIPF insurance only covers qualifying conventional securities and cash—not crypto assets.

Following successful launches in the United States, Australia, and Brazil, Canada becomes the fourth market in the worldwide partnership of the two companies. Worldwide, the collaboration has helped Webull to expand its digital asset selection from a small list to around 101 tokens and aims to cover over 300 assets over time. Strong local demand supports this growth as Canadian crypto use is projected at about 25% ownership, along with increasing retail interest in key currencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum.

Supported by Coinbase Canada, Inc., which serves as a registered Restricted Dealer across all Canadian provinces and territories, the integration offers Canadian investors a single platform to control equities and ETFs alongside crypto. Webull intends to roll out first with key digital assets including BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP, ADA, and LTC, then with early beta access for certain customers before a wider public launch in the following months.
