Science Communication Manager, The University of Queensland
I am the Science Communication Manager of the Threatened Species Recovery Hub of the Australian Government's National Environmental Science Program. The Hub is a collaboration between 10 Australian Universities and the Australian Wildlife Conservancy to undertake research to support the recovery of Australia's threatened species. The $60 million program is supported by the Australian Government and includes over 100 projects nationally, including plants, animals, ecological communities, policy, invasive species and other threats. Projects are strongly collaborative and work with many on-ground partners including government agencies, environment NGOs and Indigenous land managers.
I have almost 20 years of experience in the environmental research and management sector, in a variety of roles including project management, analyst, planning, knowledge adoption, stakeholder engagement, consultation, science communication and media management.
I completed a Bachelor of Arts (Geography) and Master of Environment both at the University of Melbourne.
