Byung-Seong Min

Senior Lecturer, Department of International Business and Asian Studies, Griffith University

As a member of the Griffith Asia Institute, Dr Byung Min has extensively researched international business and business, focusing on East Asia and Korea, for more than a decade. He has also studied corporate governance and strategy, sustainability, foreign direct investment, multi-national enterprises and exchange rates.

His work has been widely published across the Australasian region.

He teaches economics and econometrics at Griffith University, drawing on the principles of consumer behaviour and industry environment to describe the frameworks of business strategy.Currently, he has established a large database to analyse Korean listed companies including chaebols. He is a member of International Advisory Committee for Busan Metropolitan City (the second largest city in Korea).

Before joined Griffith, he was a lecturer in Economics at Monash University. He taught Economic Development in East Asia and Multinational Trade and Investment, among others. He also studied regional cooperation for environmental issues in Northeast Asia when he was a research fellow at the Korean Environment Institute and various financial issues when he was a senior research associate at the Korea Development Institute.

He gained a PhD in Economics from the Australian National University in 1995.
