I am a Professorial Lecturer at American University where I focus on International Order, Great Power Politics, and Diplomacy. My book manuscript investigates the motivation for, and political consequences of, state violations of diplomatic practice. I also write on and design wargames. I have a number of articles published or under development regarding diplomatic practice, symbolic diplomacy, crises escalation, coercive diplomacy, and great power conferences. I have been published in International Studies Quarterly, Time, The Washington Post, The Independent, among other venues. At AU I teach classes on Great Power Politics, Diplomatic Practice, International Security, and Global History.
