The Christmas holidays call for family time, and the same can be said for the Obamas. The eldest daughter of former First Lady Michelle Obama and former President Barack Obama was seen dividing her time and spending the rest of the Christmas holidays with her boyfriend in England.
Express reports that Malia was seen the previous week with her boyfriend Rory Farquharson in Islington, England. The couple who first met at Harvard University, where they both study, were seen spending time together before they returned to the United States. The two of them spent the holiday at Rory’s parents’ home in Suffolk. According to those who saw the couple, they were keeping a low profile but looked very happy and relaxed together. Only a few recognized her as well.
This is not the first time Malia and Rory were seen together in London. In 2018, the couple was spotted watching Allelujah! At The Bridge Theater. How long they have been dating is unclear, but they were already seen together as early as 2017.
Sasha, Malia’s younger sister, was also thought to be dividing her Christmas break between her family. Both daughters joined their parents for the holiday in Hawaii before going their separate ways.
Meanwhile, the former First Lady recently signed a deal to launch a new Instagram TV series. The documentary series will focus on the lives of four college freshmen and their experiences in part of the presidential couple’s Reach Higher Initiative. The Instagram TV series is in six parts and is produced by Attn.
This deal follows the Obamas’ production house Higher Ground announcement that they would be collaborating with Spotify to develop and produce podcasts about a wide variety of topics to connect with listeners all over the world.
Prior to the Spotify partnership, Barack signed a multi-year production deal with Netflix to produce content from documentary series to scripted productions highlighting the themes and topics he took on during his two terms as president from 2008 to 2016. As a disclaimer, Barack and Michelle explained that they do not intend that their media interests would go against the conservatives. Instead, their content will have more emphasis on race, class, democracy, and civil rights.
