Ever since the Trumps won the election in 2016, various claims have been made that Melania Trump was not totally on board with her husband’s presidential candidacy. The first lady has since denied those speculations, and her role in Donald Trump’s re-election campaign this year might further debunk those rumors.
Melania Trump will have more significant participation so they could stay in the White House
Donald Trump will once again enter the presidential election with the polls set later this year. He has held campaign rallies here and there, but Melania Trump will reportedly help his bid in a different, but very important way.
Politico reported earlier this month that major fundraising events have been laid out in March and will be hosted by Melania Trump herself. This may seem not surprising at all – a first lady helping her husband’s re-election bid – but reports pointed out it is a little out of character for Mrs. Trump. CNN further commented that she was not as present as other would-be first ladies were when her husband was campaigning for the White House in 2016.
Mrs. Trump will reportedly host two events next month that will benefit the Trump Victory, a joint fundraising committee of Trump’s campaign organization and the Republican National Committee. The first lady will host fundraisers on March 18 in Beverly Hills to be followed by another event on March 25 in Mar-a-Lago.
Melania Trump’s more visible role in her husband’s re-election bid is not shocking as well. Various polls over the years have shown that she is the most liked member of the first family. The latest YouGov numbers show that the first lady has a higher net favorable rating than her husband, which has been the trend for several years now and even on other surveys.

Melania Trump rumors: FLOTUS was allegedly not big on campaign rallies
During Donald Trump’s campaign trail in 2016, Melania Trump was not as visible as the public was used to with spouses of presidential hopefuls. While she took the stage at the Republican national convention in July 2016, her speech was later marred with plagiarism allegations. Parts of her speech were reportedly very similar to Michelle Obama’s words when she spoke at the 2008 Democratic convention for Barack Obama’s first presidential campaign.
The rumors that Mrs. Trump is an unwilling member of the Trump campaign continued months after they won the election. The first lady did not immediately move to the White House even after her husband’s inauguration in January 2017.
