Professor of Transport Governance, University of Leeds
My principal research interests are:
-The impact of governance structures and institutions on decision-making
-End user energy demand reduction through innovative transport policies
-Assessment of the sustainability of transport from local to international scales
-The role of information (indicators, appraisal systems and targets) on the dynamics of public policy decision-making
-Evaluation of policy interventions
I have worked in the UK Parliament supporting the Transport Select Committee. I am part of a 5 year end user energy demand reduction centre which is taking a practice theory led approach to understanding how to reduce energy demand (http://www.demand.ac.uk)
I am leading on a 3 year project as part of the RCUK energy programme studying how transport disruption affects the choices people make, and what this teaches us about the opportunities to change travel practices and policy within government, organisations, and among individuals (http://www.disruptionproject.net)
