There does not seem to be a day when United States President Donald Trump is not making headlines for his very controversial remarks about anything and everything. While many expect First Lady Melania Trump to speak up, an expert reveals that she is already doing that in a different way.
Along with Donald, Melania is also taking some of the backlash by the general public for many things. From how effective her anti-bullying campaign Be Best is, to how she keeps mum regarding her husband’s opinions, even if those opinions are in stark contrast to her own campaign and so on. However, the First Lady seems to find a way to express her annoyance to Donald in a different way, through the means of fashion, according to CNN reporter Kate Bennett, who is also the author of “Free Melania: The Unauthorized Biography.”
As Melania is a former model, it does appear to make sense as to why she would choose to express what she thinks about her husband - or at least what she thinks about her husband’s remarks and opinions - through the clothes she would wear. According to Bennett, everything Melania does has meaning, including why she chose to wear a trouser suit recently.
Bennett explained her theory of Melania using clothes as a statement towards her husband. She said that if the First Lady does not agree with her husband’s decisions or opinions, or if she is unhappy with him in general at the time, she goes for menswear. As to why she would go down that route in clothing, it is all down to Trump being infamously known for liking women in super sexy, almost skimpy dresses.
Although there is a chance that Melania may have just chosen to wear the trouser suit for the State of the Union just because she thought it was fashionable. However, Bennett said that there is no coincidence with Melania, and that it was a carefully thought out decision. If that is the case, then it would not be the first time Melania decided to send a message through her clothing.
One popular instance was during the inauguration in 2017, where Melania wore a powder blue ensemble by Ralph Lauren. Her outfit drew comparisons to one of her predecessors, Jackie Kennedy.
