ARC Future Fellow, Griffith University
I am an associate professor of archaeology and Australian Research Council Future Fellow at Griffith University in Brisbane. My research focuses on the ancient human occupation of Southeast Asia, with a focus on the pattern and timing of the initial peopling of the Wallacean archipelago east of continental Asia and the later dispersal and evolution of early humans throughout the region, including our own species, Homo sapiens. My field research in Indonesia dates back to 2003. Current fieldwork projects are based on Sulawesi, the largest and oldest island in Wallacea.
