Postdoctoral researcher in Metagenomics, University of the Western Cape
I hold a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of the Western Cape where I specialized in metagenomics. I worked in Industry for four years with a core expertise in bacterial protein production, fermentation and purification. I returned to UWC at the end of 2017 and am a Post-doctoral fellow and Project analyst at the South African National Bioinformatics Institute. My work is focused on biobanking informatics with a focus on laboratory information management systems. In addition, I facilitate and deliver customized training in Baobab LIMS. I have a keen interest in research standardization and research sustainability.
