The series was renewed by Netflix, and this is the news that its viewers have been waiting for. However, it was also announced that “Ozark” season 4 would be the series’ final installment, which means the Byrde family’s story is already ending.
With that said, “Ozark” season 4 is expected to reveal the fate of Marty, Wendy, and their children. They have gotten deeply involved in illegal business, and things are not looking great for them. In fact, in the previous season, Wendy has committed a grave crime, and there is no turning back now because the authorities are also watching them now.
The renewal details
Chris Mundy, the showrunner of “Ozark” season 4 shared that he is very happy that Netflix understands that they needed more time to conclude the story well. They want the ending to be done in a manner that the viewers will get all the answers to the questions that they may have based on the previous cliffhangers.
“We’re so happy Netflix recognized the importance of giving ‘Ozark’ more time to end the Byrdes’ saga right,” the showrunner told Variety. “It’s been such a great adventure for all of us - both on and off-screen, so we’re thrilled to get the chance to bring it home in the most fulfilling way possible.”
Gloomy storyline hinted
In “Ozark” season 4, the Byrde family’s fate is sealed, and it was hinted that they will never be able to get back to the right path again. They have involved themselves too deeply in the criminal world, and they are even killing people now, so a good ending is unlikely for Marty and Wendy.
Express reported that based on plot predictions, the family will suffer, and there will be more blood at the end of “Ozark” season 4. The Byrde couple will dearly pay for everything they did, and the “karma” will make them suffer until they repent for everything they have done, especially to Wendy’s execution of her own brother.
Release date
“Ozark” season 4 is definitely not coming this year and it is yet to see if the finale can make it in 2021. This is because at this point, the filming has not started yet plus there is the COVID-19 pandemic to be careful of.
