EAST AURORA, N.Y., Jan. 09, 2018 -- Moog Inc. (NYSE:MOG.A) (NYSE:MOG.B) announced today the Company has been recognized by Embraer, S.A. as a 2017 Supplier of the Year for new development. Mark Trabert, President of Moog’s Aircraft Controls Segment, received the award on behalf of the company at Embraer’s recent Global Supplier Conference in São José dos Campos, Brazil.
“This award is a recognition for Moog’s technical knowledge and commitment, as demonstrated on the joint work with Embraer, for the development of the most advanced full fly-by-wire technology on the narrowbody aircraft. Embraer is very glad to have Moog’s partnership on the E-Jets E2”, said Helio Bambini, Embraer’s Executive Vice President, Operations.
The award was the culmination of Moog’s efforts to design, develop and qualify a full Fly-By-Wire flight control system, consisting of flight control computers and all the hydraulic actuators of primary surfaces, spoilers and ground spoilers for Embraer’s new E-Jets E2, the second generation of the E-Jets family of commercial jets, that will enter into service in early 2018.
“The strong teamwork demonstrated by Embraer and Moog in overcoming the challenges associated with developing advanced technology flight controls was critical to our success,” said Mr. Trabert. “We are very proud to be supplying this state-of-the-art system on Embraer’s next generation, market leading airplanes.”
