Las Vegas , Feb. 18, 2016 -- Lee’s Sandwiches Las Vegas celebrated Valentine’s Day with a special visit from democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and her staff. Known as a leading Banh Mi restaurant chain internationally, this particular Lee’s Sandwiches is independent of the bigger chain with exclusive rights to the Las Vegas area.

At around 11 p.m. on Sunday, February 14, Bennito Tseng, director of operations for Lee’s Sandwiches Las Vegas, was notified that Clinton would be stopping by its Spring Mountain shop for lunch. She arrived two hours later escorted by secret service and joined by Assemblywoman Irene Bustamante.
“The patrons all began to clap and cheer when they realized Hillary Clinton would be dining alongside them for Valentine’s Day lunch,” said Tseng. “She was incredibly generous, stopping to greet individuals and pose for photos with them. Once everyone was satisfied, she sat down and I took her and Ms. Bustamante’s orders.”
For Clinton, lunch consisted of the “number five” special, a grilled pork sandwich, and the restaurant’s famous Lee’s Vietnamese Coffee. Bustamante reportedly ordered the Turkey Club Euro Sandwich and the Iced Vietnamese Coffee. After they’d finished, Tseng sent over a Deli Manjoo cake for dessert, a treat exclusive to this particular Lee’s location.
“It was such an honor to have Hillary Clinton in our small restaurant and it is great to see she is supporting small, minority businesses like Lee’s Sandwiches Las Vegas,” said Tseng. “She was very thankful for the meal, telling me it was a wonderful lunch and that she especially enjoyed our coffee.”
With the Nevada caucus just around the corner, Lee’s Sandwiches Las Vegas is providing breakfast and lunch to Clinton’s campaign staff for the entire week. Thus far, the candidate’s staff has insisted on paying for their own meals as a sign of support for the restaurant.
Lee’s Sandwiches in Las Vegas is run by the same management group as the popular Orange County, California-based Images Luxury Nail Lounge, publicized for offering some of the most expensive and lavish manicure treatments in the country.
Acting independently of the international Lee’s Sandwiches chain, the three Lee’s Sandwiches Las Vegas locations offer menu items exclusive to the franchise. For individuals interested in franchise opportunities in the area, please contact Huy Nguyen at [email protected].
