Dr. Gerald K LeTendre is the Harry L. Batschelet Professor of Educational Administration at The Pennsylvania State University. He received his B.A. (magna cum laude) in sociology from Harvard University and his Master's (sociology) and Ph.D. (education) from Stanford University. Dr. LeTendre has published on a broad range of topics in education, including teacher quality and teacher education. His books include The Routledge Handbook of Teacher Quality and Policy (co-edited with M. Akiba, Routledge, 2017); Promoting and Sustaining a Quality Teaching Workforce: Conflict, Convergence and Consensus (co-edited with Alex Wiseman, Emerald Press, 2015) and Improving Teacher Quality: The U.S. Teacher Workforce in Global Context (co-authored with Motoko Akiba, Teachers College Press, 2009). His current research interests include changing work roles for teachers cross-nationally and the impact of online education on teacher professional status.
