My PhD is in international law. My LLB is in Scots Law. I am an Alexander-von-Humboldt Fellow, and a Fellow of the Learned Society of Wales. I am an Adjunct Professor at the University of South ,and First Vice-President of GRETA, the Council of Europe's Group of Experts on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings, a human rights monitoring body.
I specialise in international law, esepcially humanitarian law, human rights and migration law.
I have worked as a concultant for many international organisations, including UNHCR, Council of Europe, IOM, OSCE, EU and ICMPD.
