She has worked for more than two decades plus in universities, interspersed with time at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the US and now at the World Health Organization HQ in Geneva.
Her focus is on all aspects of physical activity and public health and building coherence in policy and action within and between health, sport, transport, urban planning and education sectors.
She is past president of the International Society for Physical Activity & Heath, a keen hiker, swimmer and dog owner.
