McDonald's US and 23XI Racing announce they have joined forces to kick off the 2022 NASCAR Cup with the release of the race clothing collection. The partnership has been described as "historic" since this is the fast-food chain's first-ever collaboration that fuses the racing sport and lifestyle.
McDonald's US and 23XI Racing announced on Feb. 16 that they will be launching their co-branded clothing line. Fans can expect to see custom racing jackets, hoodies, limited edition shirts, tearaway snap-up pants, hats, and even basketball shorts in the merchandise lineup.
Heavy further mentioned that the two companies are releasing 10 items as part of the collection and these will be available for purchase starting Feb. 18. Racing fans and McDonald's customers must act fast and buy the items because these will only be up for sale for a limited time. All the merchandise is available via Fanatics online sports apparel and fan gear store.
"We are thrilled to bring our sports fans a streetwear collection they will want to wear and show off," McDonald's USA's senior director of cultural engagement, Elizabeth Campbell, said in a press release. "Through our partnership with Bubba Wallace and 23XI, we have set out to broaden the racing fanbase and change the culture of what is typically seen in the racing world. This collection is one way we're connecting to our fans, and we can't wait to see their excitement when the merch drops this Friday."
It was reported that the sale of the McDonald's x 23XI Racing collection is also for a good cause. All proceeds are set to be used to help support the Speed Institute that was launched in 2021. This is 23XI Racing's educational and professional development program that is focused on the motorsport industry.
Fans can buy the items at Fanatics and the price starts at $29.99. The available sizes for the apparel are from small to 3XL while the slides will have small to XL.
Meanwhile, Bubba Wallace, a car race driver, already teased about McDonald's and 23XI Racing's collab a day before the official announcement was made. He posted a photo of himself and his fiancee, Amanda Carter, and both of them were wearing the McDonald's x 23XI Racing jacket.
