Papa Johns unveiled its new menu offering to customers, and this can really be a monumental time for the pizza brand as its new item is made from hemp. The restaurant announced the arrival of its Hemp Sticks, but this will only be available in Russia and the United Kingdom.

The word “hemp” always gives a negative impression to some people since it is always associated with weed or marijuana that is prohibited. But then this hemp in Papa Johns’ new Hemp Sticks is very different!

It is a snack or side made with cheese and the restaurant’s garlic pizza stick base. The breadstick is sprinkled with the hemp seeds as its topping.

As reported on Herb.co, the version of Papa Johns Hemp Stick in Russia will feature the pizza house’s signature garlic sauce and completed with the hemp seeds on top. For the U.K. version, the breadstick has the garlic butter sauce but mozzarella is also added. This will also have the hemp seeds for topping.

It was reiterated that the inclusion of hemp seeds will not be giving the same psychoactive effects that weeds do. This is safe and in fact, the report stated that the seeds are known to be one of the superfoods that are packed with proteins and nutrients.

Customers may order the new Hemp Sticks at Papa John's, and they look like the regular mozzarella sticks, but they provide high protein so they are healthy options too. The addition of this new menu made Papa Johns the very first quick-service restaurant to add hemp in the food lineup.

“With the launch of Hemp Sticks, Papa Johns has become the first global quick-service brand to make superfood hemp available to all,” QSR Magazine quoted Papa Johns vice president of international marketing, Jo Blundell, as saying. “Premium, innovative ingredients are the very core of our pizzas, so Hemp Sticks will offer pizza fans a new way to enjoy our iconic breadsticks and help to dispel some of the misunderstanding surrounding this 100% legal, delicious seed.”
