Professor of Finance, Aston University
Professor Christos Ioannidis is Associate Dean Research and Enterprise at Aston University, based in the Economics, Finance & Entrepreneurship Department. He was previously the Head of the Department of Economics at the University of Bath, and has previously held posts in Cardiff Business School, University of Liverpool and Brunel University.
Recently he has been involved with externally funded research projects that deal with the economics of information security. He has undertaken research as consultant for private financial institutions and government organisations (ONS, City of London Corporation, WDA etc).
His research focuses primarily on Macroeconomics and Finance, with emphasis on econometric applications. His publications cover international transmission of economic shocks, inflation, macroeconomic forecasting, financial and credit markets, liquidity and models of asset price volatility and they have appeared or are forthcoming in journals such as Economics Letters, Journal of Futures Markets, Journal of Business Finance and Accounting, Journal of Forecasting, Journal of Political Economy, Omega, Quantitative Finance and others.
