About USPS Operation Santa:
New York City’s Operation Santa program is the largest public adoption Post Office in the country. Every year the iconic James A. Farley Building on Eighth Avenue is visited by people who adopt letters from needy New York families. This year marked the first changes in the program in nearly a decade as letters to Santa were available for adoption through a New York-centric microsite – delivercheer.com and also provided letters from families who endured the ravages of Hurricanes Irma and Maria in the Caribbean. Thousands of generous New Yorkers celebrated the giving spirit of this season through Operation Santa.
Coordinators and volunteers with that program share the NASDAQ stage with postal heroes from the greater New York Metropolitan Area and New England. The carriers and clerks here today also represent the spirit of the season: they delivered first-class community service and life-saving efforts provided in the line of duty, excellence in customer service and sales, and even the positivity that stamps a 50 year postal career. On behalf of our postal employees from coast to coast, the Postal Service welcomes this opportunity to ring out 2017 with NASDAQ and wishes the nation a bright, hopeful 2018!
