LAS VEGAS, Nov. 13, 2017 -- Autodesk University Booth #C402 -- Triax Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of technology for the connected jobsite, today announced an integration between its flagship Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled Spot-r system and the Autodesk BIM 360 construction management platform. This integration allows Spot-r users to view the current location of workers on 3D BIM (Building Information Modeling) models, enabling powerful, real-time, visual workforce, project and safety management. The announcement was made at Autodesk’s annual flagship user conference in Las Vegas, Autodesk University.
“We’re pleased to partner with Autodesk since we share the same commitment to building the future by connecting jobsites, data, and project stakeholders,” said Chad Hollingsworth, co-founder and CEO, Triax Technologies. “By combining our real-time worker location data with Autodesk BIM 360, contractors have the convenience of monitoring their workforce and projects right in their 2D building drawings and 3D models.”
“Construction is an inherently risky business, which makes our BIM 360 integration with Triax so critical to improving worker safety and reducing project risk,” said Sarah Hodges, Director of Autodesk’s Construction Business Line. “This type of integration partnership is an example of how insight and connected workflows will help to provide greater predictability for both today’s project needs as well as help to shape the future of a safer industry.”
The new integration extends the reach and power of the tools and workflows connected to BIM 360’s construction management platform and reflects each organization’s commitment to interoperability. Built on Autodesk’s Forge platform, this integration allows Spot-r users to log into the dashboard with their existing Autodesk BIM 360 accounts to pull in drawings and models from BIM 360 Docs, enabling streamlined project set-up.
In a separate announcement, today Triax launched Spot-r EquipTag, the first-of-its-kind non-GPS solution to track real-time equipment location and operator activity across the jobsite. The EquipTag works exclusively with the company’s wearable Spot-r Clip for workers, helping managers identify where site resources are located and how they are interacting with one another to improve safety and productivity and to mitigate risk.
Triax’s CIO Ben Sweet, will participate in a BIM 360 Product Partnership Panel at Autodesk University on Tues., Nov. 14 from 8:00 – 9:00 a.m. PT as part of the Forge Developers Conference. Triax is exhibiting at Autodesk University in booth C402 at the Venetian Las Vegas from Nov. 14-16.
