“I’ve had the privilege of meeting many of our members who have inspired me, from the new retiree who is looking to run a marathon for the first time, to the grandparent who wants to be able to pick up their grandchild and live a longer, healthier life, the stories we hear every day at SilverSneakers are a delight to share with the larger community through the Swanson Award,” said Donato Tramuto, Tivity Health’s Chief Executive Officer. “No other fitness program has such a rich history and experience in older adult fitness. What began in 1992 as a first-of-its-kind fitness program for older Americans, has now changed the lives of millions of Americans nationwide.”
Now through June 2, members can nominate themselves or someone they know by submitting their inspiring story online at silversneakers.com/swansonaward. The top 10 nominees will be selected and their stories shared on the SilverSneakers website, where an open vote will name the national award recipient. Online voting will begin on July 3, and the winner will be announced on July 17.
