Samsung Electronics introduced its latest product this week, and it is a memory card that can record continuously for up to 16 years. It is a micro SD card designed for surveillance cameras, and there is no need to replace it for years thus, it has been called “Pro Endurance.”
As per The Korea Herald, this new SD card from Samsung Electronics offers 33 times longer recording time compared to the regular speed-focused memory cards. The stated capacity of the Pro Endurance is 256 gigabytes which is currently the largest.
This new SD card is perfect for surveillance cameras such as closed-circuit televisions (CCTV), dashboard cameras, body cameras, doorbell cameras, and other similar surveillance recording needs. It was added that the Pro Endurance has been made to withstand everyday wear and tear since surveillance and body cameras are always subject to harsh environments.
The South Korean electronics company said the memory card will continue to provide unchanging high-quality performance through the years even with daily use. Samsung Electronics made this possible by reinforcing the company’s six-proof durability.
“From CCTV to doorbell cameras, the need for long-lasting and high-performing video surveillance solutions is continuing to increase, and the PRO Endurance has been designed to support that demand,” Samsung Electronics vice president of memory brand product business team, Kyu Young Lee, said in a press release. “Both consumers and enterprise users can rest assured that our new memory card will ensure continuous recording at high resolution even under extreme conditions.”
The Pro Endurance has layers of protection against magnets, water, extreme temperatures, X-rays, drops, and wearing out. Customers can buy this product starting this week in 32, 64, 128, and 256-gigabyte options. It will be sold around the world with prices varying from $10.99 to $54.99.
