Partnering with national programming boot camp, Coder Camps, SCU has developed a curriculum that focuses on a full-stack software development program which allows students to become familiar with all layers of software development. The program offers various tracks, providing students with an opportunity to pursue several language and framework options including, JavaScript, ASP.NET, Ruby, and Java—with importance placed on how those technologies can solve real-world needs in the healthcare industry.
The aim of SCU’s Software Developer curriculum is to prepare students to be ready to enter a technical career in the healthcare space immediately after completing coursework, with no additional training needed.
“There’s no denying that healthcare is changing rapidly. This is due, in part, to advances in technology. As we continue to lead the way in disruptive innovation in the healthcare education space—it is important for us to prepare our students to be leaders in the healthcare system of the future. A future that will heavily involve the use of health tech,” says SCU’s President/CEO, John Scaringe, DC, EdD.
The Software Development coursework is currently offered as a 24-week, part-time program, with new cohorts beginning every Monday. The program is strictly online and includes live lectures, 1:1 mentoring, and projects designed to solve real-world problems. There are no prerequisites required, yet students must be at least 18 years of age. Because technology changes rapidly, graduates of SCU’s Software Development program receive the unique benefit of lifetime access to all future online curriculum under the university’s “Coder. For. Life,” commitment.
