Rumors Of Battle Royale Mode In Red Dead Redemption 2 Are Setting The Web On Fire

Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the most hotly anticipated games from video game giant Rockstar. Unfortunately, the title was recently delayed because the developers supposedly wanted to give it more polish. However, a document reported on by TrustedReviews is causing the rumor mill to go into overdrive since it hints that RDR2 might come with a Battle Royale mode, among other new features.

As TechCrunch notes, none of the details published by the publication have been confirmed, so it’s worth taking all of them with a huge grain of salt. However, they do provide fans with something to chew on while waiting for the title to come out. If they just so happen to be real, it would make the wait even more worth it.

As to the actual details, the meatiest item on the document centers on the supposed Battle Royale mode. Popularized by PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and then imitated by so many other properties with varying successes, this free-for-all, 100-player mode has been a huge hit among gamers.

If the mode does end up coming to RDR2, it would certainly provide a rather interesting twist since it would be in a Western setting. Other than that, there was also the matter of a supposed first-person view that poses an interesting situation.

The previous RDR game was in third-person and all the trailers of RDR2 seemed to indicate that it would be too. Perhaps this isn’t the case.

There will also supposedly by an apartment system in the game, much like in GTA Online, where players can find tents and then upgrade them to their hearts’ content, Forbes reports. However, it’s worth reiterating that these are nothing more than rumors, at this point, and that none of them have been confirmed by any official sources.
