“Resident Evil Village” will be released in a little over a month. Aside from recalling the latest events in the series from “Resident Evil 7,” PC gamers have other things to prepare before the game launches. The good thing is Capcom has already revealed the game’s PC requirements ahead of time.
‘Resident Evil Village’ minimum and recommended PC requirements
Capcom has now filled the PC requirements information of the game’s official page on Steam. The minimum requirements to play “Resident Evil Village” on PC include Intel Core i5-7500 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200 and at least 8GB memory. The game will require NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 560 graphics card with 4GB VRAM.
To get the best gaming resolution and framerate, “Resident Evil Village” will need an Intel Core i7 8700 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 processor and 16GB memory. The GPU will have to be at least NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 or AMD Radeon RX 5700.
Both minimum and recommended PC requirements will need a computer running on a 64-bit Windows 10 operating system and DirectX 12. The “Resident Evil Village” page on Steam does not have the official file size information yet. However, Microsoft Store currently lists the game with an “approximate size” of 45.02GB. But that could still change, especially if the game will have a day one patch.
Meanwhile, Capcom wrote that both the minimum and recommended PC requirements can have “Resident Evil Village” run at a 1080p@60fps with the note that framerate might drop during “graphics-intensive scenes.” The graphics cards listed above, will not support ray tracing as the game will need NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060, AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT, or GeForce RTX 2070 for this experience.
“Resident Evil Village” is still in development and Capcom has yet to announce that it has gone gold. This means there is still a chance for the PC requirements to change before the release date.
‘Resident Evil Village’ release date
Despite dropping the numbering scheme in the official title, “Resident Evil Village” is still a continuation of the series with a story that happens several years since the events in “Resident Evil 7.” The upcoming game is also bringing back an important character from the latest title as players will assume the role of the systems engineer Ethan Winters.
“Resident Evil Village” is also confirmed to bring back familiar characters, including Chris Redfield, while also introducing new enemies. The game will be released on May 7 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Google Stadia.
