A recent report has claimed that it is unlikely for the upcoming Lenovo Z5 smartphone to actually have a 4TB internal storage capacity.
The Lenovo Z5 will be unveiled next week but there are still a lot of details unknown about the new device. But, as expected, this has never stopped the rumor mill from offering possibilities as regards the phone’s specifications and features.
The most interesting bit of speculation about the Lenovo Z5 claims that the device is going to sport an internal storage space like no other device has had — that is 4TB, to be exact.
However, a recent report from Phone Arena debunks this information as just “mere speculation.” It is likely that no sources have corroborated the claims of a 4TB internal storage, hence the publication’s verdict. The same report said that the rumored 4TB memory of the Z5 just might be a ploy to keep people excited about the upcoming device.
Phone Arena also suggested that the more likely situation would be for Lenovo to offer an exclusive 4TB cloud storage to customers buying the Z5.
Meanwhile, a few details on the Z5’s design have already been confirmed by no less than Lenovo Group’s VP, Chang Cheng, through a series of posts on China’s micro-blogging site Weibo, as first reported by Playful Droid.
Cheng revealed an invitation poster for the official Z5 unveiling event on June 5 in Beijing, China.
In Cheng’s other updates, the Lenovo exec shared a sketch of the Z5’s design, seemingly confirming that the upcoming device will sport an all-touchscreen front face offering up to 95 percent viewing space.
Apart from the rumored 4TB internal memory, there are other hefty specifications speculated on by the rumor mill. For one, the Z5 is reportedly expected to run on Qualcomm’s latest premium mobile platform, Snapdragon 845. There are also claims that the upcoming smartphone will sport a huge battery capacity that can make a 45-day standby time possible.
