Video game fans who have been wanting to purchase the hybrid portable console Nintendo Switch, especially those based in the United States, might want to start saving a few hundred bucks. With the Black Friday sales approaching, tech enthusiasts can expect some gaming rigs and consoles to join the list of discounted items next month.
Nintendo Switch on Black Friday: What stores will likely offer console at a cheaper cost?
Black Friday is practically an informal holiday observed on the following day of Thanksgiving. Major retail stores issue huge discounts on almost all the items they have. However, it is safe to say that some of the most in-demand products during this season can be found in the tech and gaming section.
When Nintendo Switch was just released in 2017, the portable console did not have many discounted offers simply because it was almost always sold out within a year since its launch. But that changes in 2019 and several pieces of information appeared online, suggesting that up to $100 discounts can be expected for Nintendo Switch.
For one, a supposed screenshot of Walmart’s Black Friday brochure for gaming consoles surfaced online. It shows that the standard version of Nintendo Switch will be offered at only $199 instead of the regular price of $299.
Walmart has yet to confirm the information. But customers who avidly join the annual Black Friday pandemonium would agree that a $100 discount is the typical price cut offered on gaming consoles. So the supposed leak could be close to the official sale details. This year, Black Friday happens on Nov. 29 in the United States.
If Walmart is going to offer a Nintendo Switch Black Friday discount, other major retail stores will likely do the same. Customers will just have to watch out for the release of official Black Friday brochures from other establishments like Target and Best Buy, among others.
Nintendo Switch sale: Discounted offers could be available even before Black Friday
Black Friday sales are traditionally found in physical stores. But some establishments often announce pre-Black Friday discounts that are typically exclusive to its online stores.
A good example of this is Walmart’s reported Nintendo Switch sale that will be available for a limited time. The company will open a pre-Black Friday sale event that will lower prices of products, possibly including Nintendo Switch and other gaming items. It will start on Friday, Oct. 25, at 12 a.m. ET.
