HOLLYWOOD, Fla., April 05, 2017 -- NV5 Global, Inc. (the “Company” or “NV5”) (Nasdaq:NVEE), a provider of professional and technical engineering and consulting solutions, announced today that its energy group has completed engineering services for the Smithsonian Institute’s National Museum of African-American History and Culture (NMAAHC) in Washington, D.C., which has welcomed 1,000,000 guests since opening in September 2016. The work was performed by the lighting services division of NV5, formerly the Luce Group.
From concept to completion, NV5 worked with exhibit designers at Ralph Appelbaum Associates (RAA) and the Smithsonian team to create a lighting design plan for each exhibit, which involved over 500 display cases and 9,000 lights. Nearly 37,000 treasured artifacts are housed within the Smithsonian’s newest museum.
The collaboration required a review of exhibit design plans and development of enhancements that aim to elicit an emotional response from viewers. NV5 will also be working with RAA on the new Obama Presidential Center Museum and Library in Chicago.
Dickerson Wright, PE, Chairman and CEO of NV5, said, “NV5 has a long record of working on historic projects, and we are so pleased with and proud of the work that our energy team, including its lighting services practice, continues to do.”
“We were extremely excited to collaborate with the amazing team at RAA and work on a project that has a unique cultural importance,” said NV5 Principal Traci Klainer.
