Donald Trump’s campaign is offering the chance for one lucky winner to meet Melania Trump.
The FLOTUS is set to make an appearance on the fundraising trail to support the POTUS’s 2020 presidential campaign. According to the Associated Press, one lucky winner could meet the first lady in Beverly Hills.
While speaking with the publication, the POTUS’s spokesperson, Kayleigh McEnany, released a statement regarding the new campaign deal.
“First lady Melania Trump is a sought-after voice from the First Family, who has the overwhelming approval and admiration of the American people. She is an incredible mother, wife, leader, and the first lady for our nation,” she said.
McEnany also said that the campaign won’t respond to questions about specific deals. However, not a lot of people are excited to meet the FLOTUS. In fact, they mocked her upcoming appearance at Beverly Hills in support of her husband’s campaign.
“Bargain prices – she normally charged quite a bit for her ‘time,’” Twitter user @b2savage said.
“This is at least the 8th contest the Trump campaign has run where the email copy promises one thing (dinner, in this case) and the fine print says something else (lunch),” Twitter user @TrumpEmail said.
According to Political Flare, Melania has appeared at just a few campaign rallies since Trump became president years ago. But recent polls revealed that her presence has helped the POTUS gain the support of female voters.
During Trump’s 2016 campaign, the first lady purposely avoided joining the president at campaign and fundraising events. At that time, the FLOTUS was more focused on her young son, Barron, who was still studying in New York City.
Shortly after Barron’s school year ended, he and his mom finally moved to the White House with Trump. At that time, rumors swirled that Melania refused to immediately move to the White House with her husband because they were having marital problems.
However, the first couple insisted that their decision was solely due to Barron’s schooling.
