Halo: The Master Chief Collection Coming To Xbox Game Pass

Halo is arguably the biggest franchise in the Xbox console exclusive lineup and even though some of the latest titles have disappointed some fans, there is still some weight to the legacy of the Master Chief. That’s why it’s no surprise that Xbox would tease fans of a potential addition of the Halo: The Master Chief Collection to the Xbox Game Pass subscription service.

The tease was done via Twitter when the official Xbox account posted a video that showed several games being handed to a customer in a car via a drive-through window in fast food packages. The games included more recent titles such as the Tomb Raider reboots and Sea of Thieves, but it also featured a bag with the Master Chief’s face on it.

It was clearly the same photo on The Master Chief Collection, which means that anyone who has an Xbox One and wants to try all of the games of the Halo franchise can do so at some point down the road. As Gamerant points out, however, there is no set date for when this is going to be the case, so fans will simply have to wait until the collection actually arrives.

On the other hand, individual Halo games are actually already available via the service, including Halo: Spartan Assault and Halo 5: Guardians. Those who don’t want to wait for the Collection to arrive can just go ahead and play those. There’s also always the option to simply pay the full price for the actual collection that players will get to keep forever, so that’s worth pointing out.

In any case, this is a good sign of progress for the Xbox Game Pass program, which has actually been criticized in the past for not having enough appealing titles on offer despite the steep monthly subscription fee. As more and more high-quality games are added to its library, which players can access to their hearts’ content, it will likely build up more subscribers.
