PASO ROBLES, Calif., Nov. 14, 2017 -- Greenbelt Resources Corporation (OTC:GRCO) (Greenbelt) is well positioned to meet the growing demand of the global bioethanol industrial market over the next five years. According to Transparency Market Research (TMR), the global ethanol market should reach U.S. $105 billion by 2022 or an increase of 7.9 percent CAGR. Beroe finds that approximately 15-20 percent of total global consumption is for non-fuel applications such as chemicals, plastics, pharmaceutical and beverage industries. Based on TMR numbers, by 2020 non-fuel ethanol uses could rise to nearly $21 billion.
Greenbelt’s bioethanol is unique because it is produced through its environmentally friendly ECOsystem process, a proprietary waste-to-energy interconnected system (ecosystem) designed to produce biobased products including bioethanol, organic fertilizer, animal feed, distilled water and in some cases edible dietary protein supplements. The bioethanol, produced from waste feedstocks such as trub (brewery waste), winery waste, and unavoidable food waste as a result of the food manufacturing process, is appealing for the industrial market as companies look to use nontoxic and safer alternatives.
“We’re getting more calls from companies who already use ethanol but are in search of more sustainable, lower carbon options,” says Greenbelt CEO Darren Eng. “We are conducting a myriad of tests for a variety of companies in the industrial sector and so far we have found that our bioethanol is as good as, if not better, than ethanol produced from other sources.”
Greenbelt is currently testing its bioethanol in the emerging cannabis market for use during the extraction process. Early tests for companies such as NCM Biotech and Puration (OTC:PURA) indicate Greenbelt’s bioethanol produced using the ECOsystem process will perform as well as the ethanol currently being used.
“As the industrial ethanol market continues to grow, especially here in the U.S., Greenbelt is positioning itself to be the go-to bioethanol supplier,” Eng says. “Greenbelt will achieve this, in part, through deploying its ECOsystem process in high agricultural and food processing regions of California.”
