Donald Trump shocked Americans when he once again made an absurd claim about the deadly coronavirus.

This week, the POTUS has been holding daily press conferences to give the nation an update on the pandemic. On Tuesday, he was praised for responding to the questions asked by the reporters directly.

The POTUS also claimed that he knew it was a pandemic all along that’s why he dealt with it seriously. Initially, he shut down direct flights from China to the United States. He and his administration also came up with other ways on how to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

But on Wednesday, Trump seemingly went back to his old ways. He dodged some questions and said that no one could have foreseen the coronavirus outbreak. After all, it just snuck up out of nowhere.

“I can it the unseen enemy, there are a thousand different terms for it, but it snuck up on us, and it’s in 128 countries. I think it’s in something like that, very close to that, think of that. So, it spreads violently, it’s a very contagious, very, very contagious virus for America to be on a wartime footing, in terms of fighting the virus,” he said.

Meanwhile, the president also appeared in a one-minute video where he tried to appease the negative feelings of Americans. He also praised the healthcare workers and those who have been helping patients diagnosed with coronavirus.

Trump also reminded Americans of the importance of washing their hands and practicing social distancing to help prevent the spread of the virus. He also ensured everyone that America will prevail.

Shortly after, the POTUS received praise from his supporters. But there were also some people that criticized him.

“Thank you, President Trump. Your actions banning travel from China saved lives. Thank you for declaring a national emergency to get necessary state funding, as well as working to get $ to working-class families. You helped save lives,” Twitter user @ScottPresler said.

“A message to stay strong and united would mean a lot more coming from a President who doesn’t scapegoat Asian Americans by calling the coronavirus the Chinese Virus every other tweet to deflect responsibility from his own failure in leadership,” Twitter user @eugenegu said.
