“Rick’s more than 16 years at FOX Sports make him uniquely qualified to help us take VSiN to the next step in its evolution,” said Brian Musburger, founder and chairman of VSiN. “We’ve made great progress as we approach 90 days on the air, and there’s no one better than Rick to accelerate our video efforts and oversee the significant expansion of our programing in anticipation of football season. We’re proud to add such an innovative and experienced media executive to the VSiN team at this key moment.”
As Senior Vice President for news at FOX Sports, Jaffe developed news programming for the FOX Sports Media Group (FOX Sports, FOX Sports 1 and 2, FOX Sports Net, FOXSports.com), leading a team of 180 in a newsroom comprised of TV producers, reporters, writers, editors, and video team. Prior to that position, Jaffe was senior vice president, Editor-in-Chief at FOXSports.com, where he managed the team responsible for developing all web content and directed 17 regional websites associated with regional sports networks. In this role, he planned, organized, and managed coverage of the 2012 London Olympics.
As Senior Vice President, Executive Producer at Fox Sports, Jaffe managed daily production of many of FSN’s national programs, specials, pilots, and guiding shows, from budgeting, development, and operations process through delivery. Before his time at FOX, he worked in the newspaper business, including serving as Executive Sports Editor at the Los Angeles Times, Deputy Managing Editor at the Chicago Sun-Times, and Assistant Sports Editor at the Detroit News.
“I’m very excited about the opportunity to join VSiN, as it’s one of the most unique and innovative networks to come along in the world of sports,” said Jaffe. “While still in its infancy, I think VSiN has already made a mark and I look forward to helping grow the network to even greater prominence.”
