“Live thoroughbred racing is an important part of our business and our history. We are proud to offer exciting races, great prize structures, and a fun environment for the horses, the jockeys and our guests,” said Chris Corrado, Vice President & General Manager of Belterra Park Gaming. “There’s nothing to compare to the thrill of live racing in this gorgeous setting along the Ohio River.”
In addition to a special opening ceremony and first race on April 28, Belterra Park Gaming will kick off its Family Fun Day series with its annual wiener dog races Sunday, April 30, immediately following the conclusion of live racing. To let more dog families in on the fun, guests may enter their toy breed dogs for a special section of racing against other breeds. The races are free and open to public; guests may register their dogs for racing by visiting belterrapark.com.
“I love hearing from families who share their multi-generational stories about making memories at Belterra Park,” said Corrado. “Family Fun Day is one more reason for these families to return together, and to start new traditions for families who have never experienced the thrill and atmosphere of live racing. This is also part of our mission to provide more entertainment options for the Queen City through our food and beverage offerings.”
Belterra Park Gaming’s first Family Fun Day will also feature pony rides, a petting zoo, face painting and more activities for families. Family Fun Days will take place every last Sunday of the month April – August. Belterra Park will also share plans for its annual Derby celebrations in an upcoming press release.
