My research centers on family demography, gender, and health. I focus on experiences of individuals with limited access to family resources due to e.g. material deprivation at the household level, inequities in distribution of resources between family members. My work falls into three streams: nutrition, health, and access to food; siblings and well-being across the lifecourse; and inequities in maternal, child, and reproductive health.
I currently hold a UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship, and lead the Food Security for Equitable Futures project. The project explores how lives in the Global South are shaped by under nourishment and hunger, with particular focus on food insecurity in Ethiopia, India, Peru, and Vietnam.
