A leading international relations scholar, author of some 20 books and more than 100 book chapters and articles; Fellow of the Australian Academy of Social Sciences; has researched, lectured and given evidence to government and other enquiries on issues of security, governance, human rights, cultural and religious dialogue, development, and environment. He is the recipient of several national and international grants and awards, including the Order of Australia Medal.
