I have an M.Litt form the University of Cambridge 1967. I was the Professor of Architecture at the University of Sydney from 1992 to 1996 and Professor at Newcastle since 2011. I was Chair of the NSW Heritage Council from 2012 to 2015. In 2012 I was awarded the Australian Institute of Architects Gold Medal.
