Canada Research Chair (nominee), Director Social Innovation Institute, Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, MacEwan University
Leanne is an Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation and a Canada Research Chair nominee for Indigenous and Community Entrepreneurship. Prior to completing her PhD in Strategic Management and Organizations, she held executive positions in both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations including President of Hillview Urban Agriculture Center, a cross-sector collaboration to foster a sustainable community food system and Chief Operation Officer of LivingHR, Inc., a consulting firm aimed at humanizing workplaces. Leanne researches social innovations including cross-sector collaborations and social, community, and Indigenous entrepreneurship. Her research is published in Organizational Science, Research on the Sociology of Organizations, Canada Food Studies, Ivey Case Publishing, WDI, Wisconsin Medical Journal, Human Resources Management Review, and the Employee Commitment Handbook. Leanne conducts community engaged scholarship using ethnographic methods.
