Professor, Director, RMIT University
I am the Director of the Global Business Innovation Enabling Capability Platform (GBI-ECP) and a (full) Professor of Management at RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia. I also hold a visiting Professorship at Université de Liège, Belgium and am the Deputy Head of the Centre d’Evaluation de la Performance des Entreprises, as well as a visiting Professorship at Tampere University, Finland, and a Fintech & Blockchain Fellow at Singapore University of Social Sciences.
I am currently leading several European H2020 projects as chief investigator and have raised over 6 M EUR in H2020 funding over 2018-2020. I sit on the scientific or advisory board of several international organisations in the field of technology and innovation management. For bridging industry-academia cooperation, I have been awarded the prestigious IBM Faculty Award twice for my research on innovation.
I am one of the founding editors of the Journal of Innovation Management, and was the Deputy Head of the ISPIM Advisory Board, from 2011 until it got discontinued in 2018. My research has been featured in top level journals and outreach publications globally. I am also the co-editor of a book series on Open Innovation, published by World Scientific/Imperial College Press. I have built one of the largest research teams focusing on open innovation research across Asia Pacific with research projects sitting at the intersection of strategy, technology, and people, across units of analysis.
My research interests revolve around open and collaborative innovation, digital innovation and transformation across knowledge-intensive services, university-industry cooperation, innovation in business-to-business services, with a particular focus on financial industry and FinTech, technology management, and business venturing.
