Dr Arnold Japutra is a Senior Lecturer in marketing in the Business School at University of Western Australia. Arnold received his Master’s degree in Indonesia and completed his doctoral studies in the UK. Prior to joining the University of Western Australia, he has worked in many different universities in Indonesia including Tarumanagara University, University of Indonesia and Gadjah Mada University. He has also served as executive leader during his tenure in Indonesia (e.g., Associate Dean of Engagement, Director of Relations Office). He further has consulting experience with several clients (e.g., Brand Alliance, Influential Brands, DTZ, Cheil-Samsung).
Arnold is passionate about brand management, relationship marketing, consumer psychology, and consumer behaviour, particularly in retail, hospitality, and tourism sectors. He is also enthusiastic on how technologies are affecting human’s lives. He has published several journal articles about consumer-generated media stimuli of website quality, mobile apps experiences, casual mobile game loyalty, consumers’ adoption of new technology, and so forth. His work has been published in many leading international journals.
Arnold is currently involved in several ongoing projects including the role of new technologies (e.g., AI, AR, VR) in shaping and developing customer experience, the development and management of digital innovation among senior managers, the factors that influence customer engagement within e-commerce mobile apps, and the role of transactive memory toward innovation and performance within the Fintech sector.
