U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to decide within two weeks on whether the U.S. will launch a direct military strike against Iran, as tensions with Tehran intensify. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced Thursday that Trump remains open to nuclear negotiations but is also considering military options.

This comes as Israel and Iran continue to exchange attacks, escalating after Israel’s reported strike on Iran’s Fordow nuclear facility, a major uranium enrichment site. Tehran has issued repeated warnings to the U.S. against becoming directly involved, raising fears of a broader regional conflict.

While U.S. defense officials are reportedly preparing for possible engagement, Trump has not committed to an attack. Domestic opposition to military escalation remains strong. Still, Trump emphasized Iran might be more willing to negotiate after suffering Israeli strikes, suggesting a diplomatic route remains possible.

The Fordow facility has become a focal point due to concerns over Iran’s nuclear ambitions. Trump, echoing Israeli leaders, opposes any enrichment activity by Iran, which he claims aims to produce nuclear weapons—a charge Iran denies.

The global community is closely watching Washington’s next move, with potential ramifications for Middle East stability, energy markets, and international diplomacy. Whether Trump opts for a military strike or revives nuclear talks could shape U.S.-Iran relations in the months ahead.
