Starbucks Japan has launched its first floral-inspired drink in the chilled cup series: the Earl Grey Flower Tea Latte. This limited-edition tea latte, available at select Seven & i Group stores, combines the elegance of floral aromas with the autumnal richness of bergamot and osmanthus.
Earl Grey Flower Tea Latte Joins Starbucks Japan’s Chilled Cup Series with Floral Aromas and Elegant Packaging
In Japan, getting a Starbucks drink doesn’t always mean heading to one of their cafes. Thanks to an ongoing collaboration with local beverage giant Suntory, Starbucks offers a “chilled cups” series at select supermarkets and convenience stores. The latest addition to this lineup introduces a brand-new flavor: the Earl Grey Flower Tea Latte. This beverage marks the first in the chilled cup series to feature floral aromas, promising to deliver "a cheerful moment with a hint of autumn."
The Earl Grey Flower Tea Latte stands out not only for its flavor but also for its eye-catching packaging. Designed with a gold base inspired by the autumn season, the cup features metallic hues and a scattering of flowers, reflecting the floral notes of the drink. A beeswax pattern subtly adorns the cup, representing the honey component that adds a gentle sweetness to the milky tea. The real star, however, is the blend of herbs and flowers, with bergamot from Earl Grey tea leading the way, supported by the soft floral scent of osmanthus.
Starbucks Japan’s Earl Grey Flower Tea Latte Hits Shelves with Limited Availability at Select Stores
Starbucks suggests pairing this floral tea latte with black sesame biscuits. The roasted sesame flavor complements the drink’s delicate floral aromas, allowing drinkers to "discover a new taste." Starting on October 8, each 200-millilitre (6.8-ounce) cup will be available for 219 yen (approximately $1.52). However, this variety will have a limited release, available only at stores operated by the Seven & i Group, such as Ito-Yokado, York Mart, and 7-Eleven.
For those eager to explore new flavors, look for this Earl Grey Flower Tea Latte while it’s available. If floral teas aren’t your style, the classic Pumpkin Spice Latte is also available in a chilled cup and is being released at more convenience stores.
