There have been a lot of iconic moments associated with the show “Rick And Morty,” many of which contributed to its massive popularity. However, it would appear that things are taking a turn for the terrible when it was revealed that one of the show’s writers is not coming back. While the show can go on without her, it is a huge loss for the series. How will “Rick And Morty” Season 4 fare without her?
The writer, in question, is Jessica Gao and she was responsible for helping to bring “Pickle Rick” to life. As one of the single greatest episodes of the entire “Rick And Morty” library, it can certainly be said that she has contributed much to making the series a phenomenon. Unfortunately, she will not be coming back for “Rick And Morty” Season 4, BleedingCool reports.
As losses go, this is a big one for the show. Gao’s work is what basically allowed the animated program to be nominated at the Emmys and eventually win the Best Animated Program award. Her departure means that there will be one less major talent working on “Rick And Morty” Season 4.
With regards to her reason for not coming back, though, it’s actually a good one. It would seem that Gao will be responsible for bringing another show to life and this one might be a little closer to her heart. As such, the remaining writers working on “Rick And Morty” Season 4 will simply have to cope without her.
Fans should not worry that the show will be any less exciting with the departure of Gao, though. Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland will still be heavily involved. This means that “Rick And Morty” Season 4 will still feature the duo’s signature goofiness. There are even reports of more interdimensional cable episodes coming up when the show possibly returns in early 2020.
