More than a year went by since the first Poco-branded smartphone was released, and its fans are still left without a clue about its successor they already call the Pocophone F2. Despite the scarcity in official updates, there are several speculations that the rumored device could be unveiled with a significant update in its cameras.
Pocophone F2 specs rumors: Device to get major camera resolution boost this year?
While Xiaomi and Poco were very quiet about their plans for Pocophone F2, the companies have been very active in developing other hardware products. One of their notable achievements in 2019 was launching some of the most powerful camera parts for smartphones that ever hit the market.
Last summer, Xiaomi launched the first smartphone to sport a 64MP camera. In the following season, the company released the Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro with a whopping 108MP rear sensor on a five-lens camera system.
The above-mentioned specs are obviously meant for premium devices, which means they come at a really steep price. That might also be the reason it cannot be expected from mid-range devices, but that’s not to say Pocophone F2 would not get a major camera upgrade once it arrives in stores.
However, due to the absence of updates from official channels, there are varying predictions on what camera specs would be included in Pocophone F2. Some reports suggest that its main camera on the rear might at least get the 64MP component while others eye a more modest feature like a 40MP shutter.
There was a time when consumers thought having a dual-camera system on a mobile device was a little over the top, but those days quickly went by. Now, even mid-range smartphones (like Huawei Nova 5T) come with triple lenses on the rear at a cheaper cost. This increases the possibility for Pocophone F2 also to have the same feature.
Pocophone F2 release date, announcement hinted by Poco Global head?
Fans eagerly waiting for Pocophone F2 have been scrubbing the internet for any ounce of clue to keep their hope for the device’s announcement alive. Just before 2019, they might have gotten a more official one when Poco brand’s Global head Alvin Tse cryptically deleted a tweet where he said they have big news to reveal this year.
