PUMA SE, the German firm that designs and makes athletic and casual footwear, apparel and accessories, has teamed up with Pokemon, a popular video game developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo, to release special footwear, accessories, and outfits.
PUMA announced the release of its new Pokemon collection items this week, and customers will be able to buy a variety of hoodies, cotton shirts, sherpa jackets, sneakers, sweat pants, and relaxed crew t-shirts featuring the famous Pokemon characters.
There will also be messenger bags and beanies in the PUMA x Pokemon collection. For the footwear, the designs will feature Pikachu, Squirtle, Charmander, Gengar, and Bulbasaur.
“The collection’s sneakers focus on these beloved Pokémon from the globally popular entertainment franchise, as highlighted by the PUMA Slipstream Charmander as well as PUMA’s Suede, Rider FV, and TRC Blaze Court, which are inspired by Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Gengar,” PUMA said in a press release. “Through the footwear range, Pokémon fans will find hidden details on the tongue label, insole, and heel.”
It was also mentioned that the collaboration would also offer a "capsule collection" that will highlight the RS-X Pikachu shows. This specific design will also appear in some apparel, shoes, and accessories.
According to Comicbook, the price tags of the items included in the PUMA x Pokemon collection range from $30 to $130. Fans and customers can buy the items on PUMA’s website, the PUMA flagship store in New York City, Foot Locker outlets, Kid's Foot Locker stores, and Champs starting Nov. 12. These can also be availed at the Pokemon Center website.
The launch of the new PUMA products with the Pokemon designs also comes ahead of the “Pokémon Scarlet and Violet” role-playing video game release, which is set for Nov. 18 on Nintendo Switch. This title has been described as the “first open-world RPGs in the Pokémon series.”
The title offers more than just a game as it will also be a space where players can meet, battle, train, and trade Pokemon. It is a whole new adventure for gamers and fans.
