A OnePlus 7 design, which shows a notchless screen layout for the next lineup of the Shenzhen-based company, is making the rounds online. Before proceeding, however, keep in mind that this isn’t an official design of the smartphone and could very well be a hoax.

With that being said, the OnePlus 7 leak image does provide some credence to its authenticity. One particular factor that will jump at the hardcore following of the flagship is the size and shape of the grille and earpiece, Android Police reported. There’s also the fact that the leaked image came from Slash Leaks, which has a history of acquiring legitimate smartphone design before the device is even revealed.

So, if the OnePlus 7 is going to get rid of the notch, where is it going to place its front-facing cameras? There are two avenues that the company could take. One is outfitting the OnePlus 7 with a sliding plate that is similar to Xiaomi’s Mi Mix 3. Second is taking inspiration from the Vivo Nex S that has a pop-up camera on the top left side of the device.

Of course, this is just speculation at this point, and the OnePlus 7 could have an entirely different design when it launches, Forbes reported. But, the possibility is still on the table since the removal of the notch on flagship smartphones are gaining popularity among users. Indeed, the slider of the Mi Mix 3 is one of the selling points of the device simply because users are enjoying a full-screen display that is not hindered by a notch on top of the screen.

Another rumor involving the OnePlus 7 is the supposed inclusion of 5G technology. This, too, is a piece of unconfirmed information and users should take it with a grain of salt. As for the release date of OnePlus 7, the company hasn’t announced anything yet, but speculations suggest it could be launched in June 2019.
