It is fair to say that the movie series has only scratched the surface when it comes to telling the story of The Eye, despite it being one of the consistent plot elements in the first two movies. That makes it a good candidate for becoming the main focus in “Now You See Me 3.”
‘Now You See Me 3’ plot predictions: Third movie to reveal more members of The Eye?
It can be recalled that The Eye is introduced in the films as a powerful, secret, and long-running organization of the world’s best illusionists and other sorts of magicians. The series of performances that the Four Horsemen conducted in the first movie felt like an audition to become part of The Eye.
The sequel then further introduced the group by revealing some of its core members who turned out to be watching over the troubled Four Horsemen running all over Macau. The Eye is probably more involved in the “Now You See Me 3” plot since the main characters have been officially welcomed as new members of the group. In this case, the Four Horsemen next series of missions would be a good chance to introduce more members of the organization.
The one thing that fans can count on for “Now You See Me 3,” is the return of the Four Horsemen -- composed of Atlas (Jesse Eisenberg), Merritt (Woody Harrelson), Jack (Dave Franco), and Lula (Lizzy Caplan) -- and their leader Dylan Shrike (Mark Ruffalo). Since the second movie revealed that Dylan has a deeper connection with Thaddeus Bradley (Morgan Freeman), it is also very likely that he would return in the next movie.
‘Now You See Me 3’ possible release date: What to expect
Determining the release date of “Now You See Me 3” is an impossible task at this point. While Lionsgate confirmed early plans for the movie has started way back in 2015, the updates on the movie’s production stopped coming for more than three years now. Even if that situation changes this year, a movie premiere happening in 2020 is still a longshot since there has not even been any report that filming of the third movie has started.
