There have been speculations as to what former first lady Melania Trump plans to do now that she is no longer in the White House. This is until recently, as Melania plans to continue her Be Best initiative with the set up of her own office.
People familiar with the matter revealed that the former first lady is setting up an office in Palm Beach, Florida, mainly for her to continue her Be Best initiative. The initiative was centered on the well-being of children especially at the time of social media as well as the impact of the opioid crisis on children. The specific details of Mrs. Trump’s initiative even during her time as the first lady has been vague, with the East Wing policy office experiencing staffing problems.
Melania’s post-White House office has brought on three of her staff members: Haley D’Antuono, Mary Finzer, and Marcia Kelly. D’Antuono will be the former first lady’s chief of staff after having served four years in the East Wing as director of operations and trip supervisor. Finzer previously served in the East Wing as a low-level staff member and will now be working in the former first lady’s operational and administrative offices. Kelly previously served the former first lady in an unpaid advisory role. It has yet to be determined whether she will receive salary this time.
The sources also noted that Melania’s post-White House office will be operating outside Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort, where she is currently living full-time. Thus, the former first lady is looking to get office space outside the resort and within Palm Beach.
Meanwhile, there have been many speculations as to whether or not Mrs. Trump would divorce her husband Donald Trump, among those speculations are coming from former aides to her and to the former president. More people familiar with what happens behind the scenes recently weighed in and said that the former first lady is staying with her husband.
Society publicist and among the acquaintances of the couple R Couri Hay said that the couple will most definitely stay together. Hay even explained why he thinks Melania would remain married to the former president. “The likelihood is 99.99% they will stay together. I’d truly be shocked if Melania formally separated and divorced from her husband,” said Hay. “She grew up in a pseudo-communist difficult life. When she married, she wanted stability, romantic stability, financial stability, and through it all, the one thing still standing is that marriage.”
